An 86-year-old Wadeville man is having to fight CenturyLink just to have telephone service at his home. William Starnes, who lives on Apple Orchard Road, has been dealing with spotty telephone service for close to a year, and for the last eight weeks he has been completely without telephone service.
Starnes, who has neuropathy in his hands, does have a cell phone; however, he has a difficult time using it due the trouble he has with his hands. Having a home telephone is important to Starnes who is on dialysis and often receives calls about needing to change his appointment times.
