County leadership took another look at broadband availability on the local level recently, only to discover the same answers as before — limited options and cost prohibitive for many. Montgomery County Communications Director Brian Helms opened his comments by stating, “Ever since I have worked here broadband has been a discussion, since 2005.” Helms went on to note the urgency to fi nd a solution now due to the ongoing pandemic and students having to attend online classes saying, “Those that are out in underserved portions of the county are

struggling and at therisk of getting left behind.”
