An update from DOT officials shed some light on the project that has been on the drawing board for decades. The N.C. Hwy. 24/27 Troy bypass, which will pass south of Troy, could see construction starting as early as the end of next year.

The chosen route will begin as a four lane just west of Dairy Road and end just east of Little River.
