NC 24/27 widening
While work continues on widening NC 24/27 on the east side of the county, N.C. DOT has scheduled a citizen information workshop on the widening of another section of the highway. The meeting, a drop-in session from 4 to 7 p.m., Nov. 18 in Albemarle, will provide citizens with a look at maps and other information as well as a chance to provide input and talk one on one with DOT representatives.
The project (TIP Project numbers R-2530B, B-4974, R-2527) includes widening the highway to a multilane facility from NC 740 in Albemarle to west of the proposed Troy bypass near Dairy Road. The proposal also includes improvements to the bridges over the Pee Dee River.
The workshop will be held at Stanly County Commons (Commissioners Room), 1000 N. First Street, Albemarle. For further information, contact DOT project engineer Lisa Feller at 919-733-7844 x 262 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
