Two Mt. Gilead men on their way back to work were killed Monday afternoon in Harrisburg. Those men, Christopher Bradley, 26, and Charlie Caple, 41, were on a break at the time of the accident.

According to Chief Deputy James Bailey of the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Department, a witness saw Bradley drive around the signal arms and onto the tracks in an apparent attempt to beat the train. The two men worked at a business located right off Saddle Creek Court, which is located right off N.C. Highway 49.
