A revenue neutral budget of 59.5 cents per $100 value was presented to county commissioners at the August work session of county commissioners. That was the budget recommended by County Manager Matthew Woodard and included a 2% salary increase for employees making less than $50,000 and a bonus of $1,000 to those making over $50,000. The current tax rate is 62 cents per $100 of value; however, the recently completed property revaluation process, which is required every eight years, showed 59.5 cents as being the revenue neutral rate, or the rate that would produce the same amount of funds as currently collected.
