The Montgomery County Board of Commissioner's meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, July 31, due to an accident involving county commissioner Dottie Robinson's husband Danny. Danny remains in Chapel Hill in critical condition at this time.
The board is short a member following the recent resignation of commissioner Wayne Wooten. The board had been scheduled to interview applicants for the replacement of Wooten on July 11; however, that was rescheduled following the accident, which occurred on July 10.
In a related matter, former county commissioner Jackie Morris, who was one of the two applicants for replacing Wooten, pulled his application early Wednesday morning when party officials chose to support applicant Grant Hinson. Hinson will now be interviewed by the board at the July 31 meeting, where a replacement will be named.
