Most people who live in Montgomery County know about the lakes and the dams that hold back the Pee Dee River forming the large bodies of waters. If you leave Mt. Gilead on N.C. Highway 731 heading toward Norwood, you will cross a bridge where Hydro Dam sits majestically to the north, visible as you pass by it. Above the dam is Lake Tillery. . .Between Badin Lake and Lake Tillery is another, not so well-known, reservoir. Falls Reservoir is a small lake, when compared to Lake Tillery and Badin Lake. . .
