Ernest Wayne Hurley, 83, of Troy, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020, at his home.
Mr. Hurley was born in Montgomery County on June 26, 1936 to William Keplar and Margaret Trogdon Hurley. He was a retired superintendent with Weaver Construction Company for many years and was a member of Macedonia U.M.C. in Abner. Mr. Hurley was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Gene and Noel Hurley.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joretta Lou Ellis Hurley of the home; brothers, James Hurley and wife Audrey of Troy and Phillip Hurley and wife Brenda of Star; sister, Mildred Hurley Yongue of Laurinburg; and sister-in-law, Ann Hurley of Lancaster, S.C.
A private graveside service was held Tuesday, May 19, at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery in Abner and was officiated by the Rev. Bill Knapp.
