Frances O. Robinson, 93, of Troy, went to be with her Lord Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mrs. Robinson was born February 21, 1926 in Montgomery County, the daughter of Thomas H. and Hulda Whitley Overton. Frances was a lifelong resident of Troy. She worked in the office of the Town of Troy for 21 years before retiring. She enjoyed playing the piano for Eastern Star Chapter #329, of which she was a Charter Member. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Troy and taught and played piano for Children’s Sunday School. She was a wonderful cook and loved to sew.
She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Charles Alvin (Bubbie) Robinson; daughters, Annette Kilby (Alvin) of Monroe and Pam McGuirt of Clinton; son, Charles Robinson of Troy; sister, Elizabeth McCollum of Asheboro; brother, Max Overton (Lillian) of Troy; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brother, Lane Overton; and son in law, James McGuirt.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Troy with the Rev. Vanlene Nelson officiating. A visitation will follow the service. Burial will be private at Southside Cemetery, Troy.
