Bobby Gene Privett, 74, of, Candor, passed away Monday, September 9, 2019 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Moore County on December 26, 1944, Bobby was the son of Reid Clifford and Foy Margaret McCaskill Privett. He was a truck driver with Mountaire Farm, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by son, Leon Rothe; brother, Clifford Privette; and sister, Marie Meacham.
Privett is survived by wife, Wanda Whittaker Privett of the home; sons, Danny Privett of Star and Sam Rothe of Illinois; daughters, Jane Gaddis of Siler City and Lisa Rothe of Calabash; brothers, Johnson Privett of Springfield, Tenn. and Tim Privett of Candor; sister, Elaine Privette of Candor; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence at N. Williams St.
