Daniel “Danny” Richard Robinson, 70, of Balsam Circle, Troy, died Saturday, August 10, 2019 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Troy, with the Rev. Jeffrey Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in the Bruton Family Cemetery.

A beloved husband, grandfather, brother and uncle, Danny was born July 30, 1949 in Cabarrus County, son of W. Bernard and Maxine Capel Robinson. Danny was a member of First Baptist Church of Troy, where he was a deacon and an usher. He served on the food pantry committee and various other church committees. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Civitan Club, serving as treasurer, and a retired member of the Montgomery County Rescue Squad, where he also served as treasurer. He had worked at Russell Hosiery Mill, Clayson Knitting, Fidelity Bank and Briggs-Candor Funeral Home. He was a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill.

He is survived by wife, Dottie Bruton Robinson of the home; stepdaughter, Karen Pope Binns of Troy; stepson, Steve Pope of Hamlet; sisters, Kay R. Tuggle (Bill) of Troy and Virginia Nachand (Peter) of Rural Hall; grandchildren, Derek Binns of Hickory, Damon Binns of Troy and Delaina Binns of Troy; great-grandchildren, Audreyna Binns, Bryce Binns and Coltin Binns; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at First Baptist Church of Troy and other times at the home of Karen Binns, Bruton Dr., Candor.

Danny will always hold a special place in our hearts.
