Walton Parsons, 85, of Mt. Gilead, died Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle.
Funeral services will be held December 2 at 2 p.m. at Parsons Grove United Methodist Church, Pekin Rd., Candor with the Rev. William Mitchell and the Rev. Henry Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Parsons Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Parsons was a native of Montgomery County, the son of Clayton C. and Margaret (Sedberry) Parsons. He was a member of Parsons Grove United Methodist Church and retired from Troy Furniture with 20 years of service.
Survivors include wife, Betty Thompson Parsons of the home; daughter, Janice P. Morris of Troy; son, Kevin Parsons of Troy; stepson, Steve Thompson of Mt. Gilead; stepdaughters, Cynthia Thompson and Vickie McDowell, both of Mt. Gilead; brother, Tilton Parsons of Troy; sisters, Elaine Haywood of Troy, Blanche Lamonds and Sarah Harris, both of Candor; five step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Wanda Gail Parnell Campbell, 52, of Candor, died Wednesday, November 25 at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital in Troy.
Funeral services were held November 29, 2009, at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Martin E. Davis and the Rev. Mark Moore officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Campbell was a native of Montgomery County and was a textile inspector.
Survivors include son, John Wayne Campbell, of New London; one granddaughter.

Bruce Duwayne Spencer, 52, of Eagle Springs, died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Funeral services were held November 28 at Holy Way, Eagle Springs. Internment followed at Zion Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include wife, Elsie Spencer; mother, Josephine Spencer; father, Levon Spencer; daughter, Bridillia Spencer; stepson, Thomas Goldston; sister, Lolita “Candy” Spencer; brothers, Phillip, Jefery, Lawrence and Ken.
Max Maynor, 80, of Mt. Gilead died Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at his residence.
The family will receive friends December 3 from 1-2 p.m. at Troy Pentecostal Holiness Church, Bilhen St., Troy. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. at Troy Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Neil Pressley and Richard Lynthacum officiating. Burial will be in Wadeville Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Gilead, with military honors performed by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Mr. Maynor was a native of Stanly County; he was a member of Troy Pentecostal Holiness Church and a retired machinist. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Grace McIntyre Maynor of the home; daughter, Lucky Annette Bruton of Ether; son, Leroy Max Maynor of Conway, S.C.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
