The Lady Eagles continue to win on the hard courts as the season draws near the end. Interim coach Greg Blake has had the opportunity to get some of the underclassmen some experience in the absence of head coach Jimmy Blake. “Last week we had the chance to get some of the freshman on the court in the doubles matches and get some valuable experience,” he stated. “In a couple of years, these young ladies will be leading the program and carrying the team, so it helps the program in a big way down the road if they can have some time on the court in a game that counts.”
In their first match, the Eagle hosted the Bulldogs and won easily 9-0. Results were Monica Kellis (6-0, 6-2), Mallory Blake (6-0, 6-0), Heather Jo Reynolds (6-0, 6-0), Samantha Stewart, (6-0, 6-0) Elizabeth Romero (6-3, 6-0) and Meredith Chappell (6-1, 6-0). In doubles, Romero/Stewart won 8-2, Chappell and Makayla Sheffield won 8-0 and Jada Cagle and Hailee Alvarez won 8-0.
