Sites plans presented by the Southeast Partnership for potential development of East Montgomery High School as an economic development site were presented at the November meeting of county commissioners. The group developed a master plan as part of an Economic Development Administration initiative and grant.
The master plan is considered a guide to the potential redevelopment of the 114-acre site where East Montgomery High School currently sits. This location is considered a prime spot for development due to its having water, sewer and rail access. A master plan is the “conceptual ‘blueprint’ of sorts used to help guide these entities toward the next steps needed to recruit a new industry or industries.” It is also one of the first steps required in moving forward.
