The Mt. Gilead town board of commissioners approved a motion to reopen public parks and pavilions after they were closed due to COVID-19.
Rules will be put in place in compliance with current regulations regarding the pandemic. Social distancing will be enforced, and outdoor gatherings of 50 or more people are prohibited. Signs displaying the rules will be placed in the parks.
Anyone wanting to use the pavilion facilities still needs to reserve them through the city. Mt. Gilead Fire Department facilities have also been made available again under similar stipulations.
