People filing for office in Biscoe, Candor and Mt. Gilead are few and far between as of midday on Tuesday. Since last Wednesday, only five people have added their name for consideration.
In Biscoe, incumbent mayor Eddie Reynolds is the only person to file for that seat to date. Three board seats are open, with incumbent Kay Cagle Kinch filing for reelection last Tuesday. Lashonda Ryan, who was elected to fill the unexpired term of the late Jimmy Cagle, filed for reelection last week. Gene Anderson, who passed away on Monday, did not plan to seek reelection and his term was nearing its end.
