A unique find was discovered when Kayren Brantley and her brother opened her father’s safe following his death. It was an old ring that her father, Warren Shiver, had found on the beach one day while using his metal detector, explained her mother, Becky. And thus began a journey to find the owner that ended with a most unusual twist.
It is believed that Warren found the ring in the late 70s or early 80s. Brantley said family members told her that her father attempted to find the owner back then, but was unable to, especially since the college associated with the ring, Woman’s College of Due West, did not even exist then.
