The driver involved in the September 22 hit and run on N.C. Highway 24/27 in Biscoe has been arrested. Melissa Privett, 36, of Troy, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet when she hit Timothy “Ozzie” Blake, 54, of Biscoe. Blake was in the center lane of the highway when Privett crossed into the center lane, hitting him.

Privett has been charged with felony hit and run causing injury, failure to report an accident, exceeding a safe speed and driving while license revoked. In addition to charging Privett, State Highway Patrolman David Kellaway, who investigated the accident, has charged Blake with impeding traffic.
