Belinda "Bede" Karr

Belinda "Bede" Karr of Badin Lake, died in Greensboro, on February 13, 2021, at the age of 70. She is survived by her husband, Russell Karr; daughter, Tina Jaffe of Virginia Beach, Virginia; granddaughter, Victoria Whitby; great-granddaughters, Lily, Emma and Josie of Chesapeake, Virginia; brother, John Zorn, and sister, Ester O'Donnell of Wetumpka Alabama; and sister, Linda Gillum of Aliceville, Alabama. Bede was preceded in death by her mother, Wynette Selph of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and granddaughter, Jacqueline Cardwell of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was born August 29, 1950 in Ocilla, Georgia. Bede graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1969 and from Darton State College in 1990 with a degree in Accounting. She married Russell in 1974, and due to his corporate transfers, lived in Newport News, Virginia; Greenville, South Carolina; Albany, Georgia; Charlotte; and Toronto, Ontario. She worked in general accounting and tax preparation, and in later years, she was an IRS tax volunteer. Bede was an outgoing, fun-loving person who easily made friends everywhere she went. She made it her mission to help those around her have fun too, and she was always ready to assist with charitable and social events. A private funeral service for family only will be held in Albemarle, on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
