Elaine Pritchard Reynolds

Elaine Pritchard Reynolds, 101, passed away peacefully at her home, Sunday, January 3, 2021. God had her wings ready, but our hearts were not. 

Born July 2, 1919 in Guilford County, N.C., the daughter of Clara Pritchard and stepdaughter of Kinney W Hulin, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Horace Reynolds Sr. 

She was educated in the Greensboro and Asheboro school systems. She spent her high school years at Farm Life Boarding School in Moore County. She was the last surviving member of the class of 1937. After her husband’s death, she was employed by B. C. Moore’s in Troy. She was a noted historian and genealogist. 

She is survived by her daughter, Madeline R. Allen of Ramseur; sons, Harry Reynolds of Asheboro, and James “Butch” Reynolds of Troy; grandson, Todd Allen and wife of Greeley, Colorado; granddaughter, Britt Elaine Allen of Liberty; great-grandson, Brandon Alley, of Vancouver, Canada; and one sister, Nancy Hulin Tuttle of King. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Love Joy Methodist Church, c/o Cemetery Fund, 1137 Substation Rd, Troy, NC 27371. A private graveside service is planned at a later date. 

The family would like to thank Liberty Home Care and Hospice Services of Southern Pines for their support during the last few months.
