November 1, the Montgomery Central varsity soccer team traveled to Concord to take on Concord High School in the first round of the North Carolina soccer state championship playoffs. 

This year marked the second consecutive year that the Timberwolves made the state playoffs in soccer. The game got away from Montgomery Central early, with Concord’s scoring quickly and often. The Timberwolves did manage to score a goal off the foot of Eder Alexis Delgado and was assisted by John Vargas. The Timberwolves fell by a score of 8-1.
